Hello, we are Ron and Julie Flint. After retiring from our careers in the media world, we made the decision to move to Guemes Island in 1991 to pursue a simpler life. Ron's cherished childhood memories of growing up on the island were a major draw for us. We wanted to work in a way that allowed us to connect with nature and actively participate in our daily lives, and Guemes provided the perfect opportunity to do just that.

One of the things that makes us proudest is our team. We employ a small group of island residents who have become like family to us, some of whom have been with us from the very beginning. With their help, we are able to create products that we truly believe in and are excited to share with others. Our specialty is crafting timeless treasures for every book lover.

Wooden Products Honoring Nature

Mitercraft draws inspiration from the breathtaking Pacific Northwest, which serves as our home base. The mesmerizing ebb and flow of the tides, the soaring majestic eagles, the snow-capped Cascade Mountains, and the enigmatic Salish Sea envelop our workshop, influencing everything we do. We work tirelessly to craft exceptional products that are reminiscent of the beauty surrounding us. Furthermore, we cherish the natural world and frequently engage in outdoor activities, including hiking and cycling on the nearby trails, boating to neighboring islands, and savoring fresh Dungeness crab with our loved ones on the beach. This lifestyle motivates us to infuse every design with a unique story, creating products that will last for generations.

Handmade Products from our Woodshop

At Mitercraft, we're thrilled to see a renewed appreciation for traditional craftsmanship and the handmade. Our woodshop on Guemes Island is always buzzing with activity as we combine old-fashioned woodworking techniques with cutting-edge technologies like CO2 laser engravers and UV Ink flatbed printers. The result? Stunning, heirloom-quality bookmarks that feature unique artistic details and can even be customized as treasured gifts for generations to come. Each and every bookmark is crafted with care, as though it were a gift we're eagerly sending your way. We take great pride in our work and can't wait to share it with you.
